The Odyssey, Christopher Nolan's latest project, set to be released Friday, July 17, 2026, is, per pre-release reviews (NYTs, Guardian, Washington Post) by happy coincidence and not to be presumptuous, a movie that finishes the sentences or squares the circle of many of the thoughts and concepts of this blog. For those affected by the costs of war in its many forms: social and familial dysfunction, PTSD, homelessness, hyper -vigilance, and for those who aren't but for whom a classic tale still remains a draw, this movie portends to be an epic masterpiece of the sort not seen in a while
